Bohs future safer as wage row nears resolution

Players Brian Shelley and Stephen Gray had initiated proceedings which were due to come before the High Court on February 7 but, following negotiations between the players, the union, the club and the FAI over the weekend, it’s understood that a resolution to the impasse is imminent.

Shelley and Gray are just two of 10 Bohemians players who are due eight weeks wages and who have also been involved in prolonged contract disputes with the cash-strapped club.

Meanwhile, Derry City have announced the signing of former Bray Wanderers and Drogheda United striker Eamon Zayed.

The 27-year-old has agreed a one-year deal with the newly promoted First Division champions after being released by Sporting Fingal at the end of last season.
