FAI step into Bohs saga

THE FAI have intervened in the dispute which threatens to have Bohemians wound up.

Bohs players Brian Shelley and Stephen Gray were due to host a press conference yesterday at the headquarters of the players’ union, the PFAI, but it was cancelled following a request from FAI chief executive, John Delaney.

According to the PFAI, the FAI boss is now involved in negotiations, which are ongoing, and the union said that it expected not to be making a further announcement until Monday.

Shelly and Gray had initiated court proceedings following the non-payment of wages for eight weeks, and a hearing in the case is due to take place on February 7th.

However, the intervention of the FAI is an indication that there are hopes the impasse can be broken before matters wind up in the High Court.

Meanwhile, the exodus from Dalymount Park continues with the news that Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson is said to be keen on signing Aaron Greene after a previous attempt to bring the Bohs forward to London Road had fallen through.
