No Rovers return for Shearer

ALAN SHEARER has ruled himself out of contention to become the new Blackburn manager following speculation he would return to his former club.

Shearer has been one of the bookies’ favourites to take over at Ewood Park after Sam Allardyce was sacked by the club’s new owners last Monday.

But Shearer, who helped Rovers win the Premier League in 1994/95, seemed to rule himself out on the BBC’s Match of the Day programme on Saturday.
