Quinn: politics’ cost England dear

FORMER Republic of Ireland international Niall Quinn felt England were a victim of “politics” in their failed bid to land the 2018 World Cup.

The Sunderland chairman, who watched the vote announcement by video in the city, expressed shock at the outcome.
