Malouda to the rescue to blast beleaguered Blues to victory

FLORENT MALOUDA provided a defiant finish to another shaky night for Chelsea as they came from behind to claim an unconvincing 2-1 victory over Slovakian minnows MSK Zilina — a result that alleviates but by no means eliminates the pressure on manager Carlo Ancelotti.

There was a deep intake of breath when Zilina took a shock lead through Benin international Babatuonde Bella but thankfully for manager Ancelotti’s sanity Daniel Sturridge equalised after the break before Malouda’s winning goal, with only four minutes remaining, gave him some respite.

Ancelotti insists his side have no chance of winning the Champions League if they play as they did in the first haf, however. “We had a good reaction in the second half, with more intensity and good play, and plenty of opportunities to score.
