Rovers’ Rice eager for more silverware

STEPHEN RICE sums up where Shamrock Rovers are at right now, still happy to bask in the glow of that long-awaited league triumph but equally determined not to let the chance of a momentous double slip away on Sunday.

So one minute he is grinning as he recalls where the championship trophy spent the night after that dramatic final game in Bray: “Yeah I slept with it, the missus wasn’t too happy; she was in the spare room.”

The next he has his serious game face on, as he assesses the challenge facing the Hoops when they come up against Sligo Rovers in the FAI Ford Cup final.
