Rovers hope Twigg and Price are right

SHAMROCK ROVERS have concerns over striker Gary Twigg (hamstring) and defender Aidan Price (groin) for Sunday’s FAI Ford Cup final against Sligo Rovers but manager Michael O’Neill is hopeful both will play.

Rovers hope Twigg and Price are right

Twigg picked up a hamstring injury which forced him to leave the pitch in Bray on the night he scored his 50th goal for Rovers and the club secured its first title since 1994.

“We didn’t take him off as a precaution but because he didn’t look like he could function properly,” says O’Neill. “Had we needed to keep him on and he would have missed the cup final, we would have done so. But both him and Aidan are doing everything they can to be fit.”
