SLOVAKIA coach Vladimir Weiss paid tribute to his backroom staff and scouting team after their 1-1 draw with the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday night.

Weiss feared the worst when Sean St Ledger put the visitors ahead in Zilina and after Jan Durica equalised, Robbie Keane had a great chance to win the match but Everton’s reserve goalkeeper Jan Mucha saved his first-half penalty.

“The penalty was the key moment but I was clam before the spot-kick,” said Weiss.
