Wenger set for new Arsenal deal

Wenger, who turns 61 in October, will be out of contract next summer but has confirmed ahead of the opening Premier League game of the season at Liverpool tomorrow that a new deal was on the table. In fact, some reports last night suggested he has already signed a four year-contract extension which will keep him at the Emirates until he is 65 – the deal will be announced next week.

The Gunners have been trophy-less since the 2005 FA Cup but their manager continues to have faith in both his own ability and that the current crop of talent will finally come of age.
