Worthy finalists on cusp of history

AT long last Spain, the great underachievers of world football, are through to their first World Cup final.

They will line up against the Netherlands at Soccer City, Johannesburg, on Sunday after beating Germany 1-0 in a disappointing semi-final last night.

Yet Spain deserve it. No question about that. From the first round aberration when they lost against Switzerland they have grown into this tournament.
