Togo’s African Nations ban set to lifted

INTERNATIONAL: The president of the Confederation of African Football is to ask for the ban which prevents Togo from competing at the next two African Nations Cups to be lifted.

The president will ask the CAF executive committee at its meeting on May 15 to lift the sanctions after a settlement was reached yesterday between the Togo Football Federation and CAF following mediation initiated by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

As part of the agreement, the TFF agreed it did not comply with CAF competition regulations over their withdrawal from the 2010 tournament earlier this year.
