Wenger frustration reaches boiling point

IT IS five seasons since Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal manager, has lifted any silverware so he is no stranger to abject disappointment.

But he must have reached new levels of helplessness after this most ludicrous encounter at the DW Stadium which finished with his side as the vanquished when for so long they looked as though they would be the victors.

With 10 minutes to go, Arsenal were comfortably winning 2-0, only for Ben Watson, Titus Bramble and Charles N’Zogbia to turn the game on its head with three late goals to essentially secure Wigan’s Premier League future while simultaneously ending Arsenal’s already wafer thin Premier League hopes.
