Bohs play the ’Field
“This is a big game,” says Bohs manager, and former Linfield player, Pat Fenlon.
“It’s a semi-final in an all-Ireland competition for a trophy Linfield have won and Bohemians have not. This game is also a bit special for me. I played there at an important time in my career and I loved playing there. I still know a lot of people associated with the club.
“This match is sandwiched between important league fixtures but that takes nothing from it. We’re going out to win.”
Bohemians returned to Setanta Cup action five weeks ago with a 3-1 win away to Coleraine and followed up with a 1-1 draw against Glentoran two weeks later.
Fenlon has a number of selection issues today as Steven Gray, Gareth McGlynn and Ruaidhri Higgins are cup-tied, while Killian Brennan (ankle injury) and Anto Murphy (shoulder) are doubtful.
Linfield, currently clear at the top of the Irish League, are also missing players, with Peter Thompson (back), JP Gallagher (knee), Robert Garrett (foot) and Noel Bailie (calf) all ruled out.
The second leg of the semi-final will take place at Windsor Park on Monday, April 19.
Meanwhile, in the Airtricity League First Division today, Mervue United host Waterford United at Terryland Park (7.00pm) and Longford Town face Derry City at Flancare Park (7.30pm).
Tomorrow sees Wexford Youths at home to Salthill Devon (2pm).
