Super Kev vows to play on

KEVIN PHILLIPS has vowed to continue playing for at least one more season after the Birmingham striker reached the 250-goal mark in his career.

Super Kev vows to play on

If a new Blues deal is not forthcoming, former England international Phillips maintained he will play on, although he insists he will not drop below the Coca-Cola Championship.

Phillips said: “It means a lot to get to 250 goals. It has been a great career and it is not over yet. I’ve built a career on putting the ball away when it comes into the box. You don’t just lose that overnight. I’ll lose my legs eventually. I am not a player who will run past players at pace. But, give me the ball in the box, and I’d like to think a good percentage of the time, I’ll put it in the net. Someone well respected in the game said to me, you want to play at the highest level as long as you can. It is easier to go down than to come back up.
