No Roman move for Gallas, insists Wenger
Gallas is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to Serie A outfit Roma in recent days. Wenger, however, is hopeful the former Arsenal captain will sign a new contract.
âYou (the media) can link him with who you want, because he is out of contract and can talk to whom he wants,â said Wenger.
âI do not know if he has spoken to Roma but he is speaking to us and our desire is to keep him here.
âI think he wants to stay here, all the rest is difficult to know whether it is true or not.â
Wenger added: âI am not concerned. He (Gallas) is under contract until June 30. We have not found an agreement yet. I will meet his agents again next Thursday and we will try to find a solution.
âIt is very difficult for me to come out (and discuss contract talks). I feel I have to respect both parties and not to come out about the details.ââ
One Arsenal player who definitely wonât be joining Roma is Emmanuel Eboue after the playerâs agent Franjo Vranjkovic dismissed reports linking the Ivorian with a move to the Eternal City.
âIt isnât true that Emmanuel is close to Roma,ââ Vranjkovic said.
âHe is happy in England, he has a nice role. Roma has had no contact with me or with our staff. I can say with confidence that the player is very happy in England and it is unlikely he will move.ââ
Meanwhile Cesc Fabregas looks certain to miss tomorrowâs Premier League clash with Hull.
The Spaniard hobbled out of last weekendâs win over Burnley with a hamstring strain and missed the Champions League rout of Porto.
It had been hoped Fabregas might be fit for the trip to the KC Stadium but Wenger feels the Arsenal captain has little chance of being available.
âHis chances of playing are 0.5% â that means unless a miracle happens, he will not play,ââ Wenger said.
