Robinho unlikely to return

WHATEVER chance Man City of luring Carlos Tevez back from South America, it would appear Robinho has bolted from Manchester for good.

The Brazilian has cleared his house, sold his car, shipped his possessions back to South America and told his representatives to find him a new club.

Robinho is currently on loan at Santos in his home country and scored twice during a 6-3 defeat of Bragantino on Thursday.

City boss Roberto Mancini has said in recent weeks that he expects the 26-year-old to return to the club after the World Cup this summer, and senior figures at Eastlands have certainly been hoping that their £32.5 million (€40m) record signing will be back when his six-month loan runs out in early August.

But it has emerged that Robinho has already had his house cleared in the city and has flown all his possessions to South America.

His white Lamborghini sports car has also been sold.

Robinho has told his representatives he has no desire to move back to City and asked them to arrange a permanent move away from England in the summer.

He has also said that he would rather stay at Santos – who are top of the Sao Paulo state championship with a four-point cushion – for an extended spell than return to City.

Meanwhile City’s Togolese striker Ennamuel Adebayor has admitted he’s still reliving the horrors of an ambush on his team’s coach on the way to the Africa Cup of Nations.

“I sent texts to my mum and dad saying ‘I’m going to die’,” Adebayor revealed. “To explain what happened (on the coach) is difficult...you can’t imagine the sound of the bullets.

“I have one more chance to be alive – but what God has given to you he can take back.”

Adebayor is clearly still reeling from the events in January, but explained that he was happy to be back with his team mates.

“When I came back to Manchester City all the players were very nice to me – they gave me more confidence,” said the forward.

“But I have a different perspective on everything now. I’m happy to be alive.”
