DAN MURRAY pulled on a Shamrock Rovers shirt last night for the first time, barely 24 hours after securing a move away from League of Ireland Premier Division rivals Cork City.

Murray came on as a half-time substitute as the Hoops beat Shelbourne in a 1-0 friendly win courtesy of a 12th minute strike from triallist Declan Edwards.

Speaking yesterday, Murray criticised the “audacity” of the suspension which was handed down after last week’s show of opposition against Tom Coughlan’s stewardship of the club but said he was leaving Leeside with a heavy heart.
