McCarthy could add bite to Wolves

WOLVES manager Mick McCarthy has hinted a new striker is amongst his top priorities during the January transfer window as he continues to be linked with Leeds hotshot Jermaine Beckford.

McCarthy knows Wolves are short of back-up for Kevin Doyle, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Chris Iwelumo, with Andy Keogh and Stefan Maierhofer currently sidelined through injury.

The former Republic of Ireland boss is also believed to be lining up a second bid for Hull winger Stephen Hunt.
