Reds ‘on the wane’, says new Blue Vieira
The France international, who sat out last night’s game against Blackburn Rovers with a calf strain, also admitted he has been given ‘no guarantees’ about his place in Roberto Mancini’s side.
Vieira is convinced City can make up the ground not only on United but also Arsenal and leaders Chelsea.
“When you compare the players we have in our squad with those at the other top sides, City’s team looks just as good as anyone else’s,” he said.
“I’m used to winning and there’s no reason why that shouldn’t continue with Manchester City. Of course we should be aiming for the title. When I look at the Premier League this season, none of the top sides have looked particularly impressive: Manchester United seem to be on the wane, Chelsea haven’t been all that convincing, and even though Arsenal have looked pretty good in recent weeks, I see no reason for us to be scared of any of the other top sides,” he said.
