Keane’s Ipswich finally grab win

IPSWICH Town finally clocked up a long-awaited win yesterday – but manager Roy Keane banned fans from attending.

Keane’s Ipswich finally grab win

Keane, whose team prop up the Championship, arranged a behind-closed-doors game with Premier League outfit West Ham.

Security was tight at Portman Road as stewards were drafted in to ensure supporters were not present as Ipswich secured a 3-0 win thanks to goals from 16-year-old Connor Wickham, Pablo Counago and Lee Martin.

Earlier the embattled boss admitted he is facing the worst crisis in his career as he fights to keep his job.

“It’s the toughest time I have had in my career, though I had tough times as a player,’’ Keane said.

“But we have got to deal with it and I’m still as determined as ever, 100%.

“It's tough at the moment because the players deserve better than what they're getting. We’re stuck in a rut.’’
