Derby delight for Dunne’s Villa debut

RICHARD DUNNE made his Aston Villa debut in the heat of a Birmingham derby, coming through with flying colours and three points.

Dunne was one of three defenders making their debuts in claret and blue but the Dubliner looked like he had played alongside Villa’s other new central defender, £5m buy James Collins, for years.

“It was enjoyable,” said the £6m signing from Manchester City. “Obviously to come away with a victory helps. It was a good experience.
