WHEN Michael Owen eventually decides to bring his playing career to an end, he will have plenty to reflect upon.

The four goals he scored to destroy Nottingham Forest in front of a packed Anfield gallery in 1998 when he was still in his teens, the sensational goal against Argentina before England bowed out of France ’98 on penalties.

Then there were the two he netted in the final seven minutes that stunned Arsenal and saw Liverpool win the 2001 FA Cup final at the Millennium Stadium and the hat-trick in England’s stunning 5-1 World Cup qualifying win over Germany in Munich eight years ago.
