RTÉ to launch new evening sports-talk show

RTÉ RADIO is set to move and possibly extend its nightly sports-talk slot in an initial move to combat Newstalk’s runaway success with their ‘Off the Ball’ programme.

Sport at Seven (Sport@7) will be hosted by the highly-regarded Darragh Maloney and Damien O’Meara, and will kick off at 7pm on September 7, the day after the All-Ireland hurling final.

Sunday Game presenter Des Cahill’s half-hour slot from 6.30-7pm will discontinue, though Cahill will continue to provide a considerable sports input into Mary Wilson’s Drivetime programme.
