Hunt set for Hull switch as Reading accept bid

STEPHEN HUNT was last night on the brink of are turn to the Premier League after Hull agreed a fee believed to be in the region of £3 million (€3.5m) with Reading for the Republic of Ireland winger.

Hunt last night left the Ireland’s training base in Tipperary to hold talks with the Tigers.

He will undergo a medical at the KC Stadium today, but is expected to return in time for tomorrow night’s friendly with Australia at Thomond Park.

Reading’s director of football Nick Hammond last night confirmed the Royals had accepted a bid for the 28-year-old.

“I can confirm we have agreed a fee for Stephen Hunt with Hull City chairman Paul Duffen and the club have now been given permission to talk to the player,’’ Hammond said.
