Bendtner bounces back as Baggies come bearing gifts

AFTER the drought, the deluge. Arsenal might have been a parched attacking force for much of this season, but they found West Brom a source of much-needed refreshment last night.

The embarrassment of chalking up four consecutive scoreless draws was banished, partly at least, by three first-half goals and a comfortable victory over the Premier League’s most porous side and nobody was more grateful than Nicklas Bendtner.

The Danish striker has been the subject of ridicule and contempt in equal measure for Arsenal fans but he ended the night with chants of “Super Nicklas Bendtner” after notching two goals, his first since 17 January.
