Hughes: City chiefs have realistic goals

MARK HUGHES insists Manchester City’s owners still have a pragmatic view of life at Eastlands.

After their unsuccessful pursuit of former world player of the year Kaka this month, City’s Abu Dhabi-based bankrollers might be somewhat underwhelmed by Hughes stating his aim for the remainder of the season is for his team to stay in the top half.

Yet the former Wales chief revealed owner Sheikh Mansour is fully supportive of his plans and understands completely the need for City to take one step at a time.
