Sbragia: Keane yet to bid fond farewell

SUNDERLAND caretaker boss Ricky Sbragia yesterday revealed that Roy Keane has not spoken to his backroom staff since he quit the Stadium of Light nine days ago.

There was a frenzy of speculation last week that Keane informed Niall Quinn of his resignation by text, claims that were later vigorously refuted by an unusually outraged Sunderland chairman.

But as Sbragia spoke of creating greater togetherness in what by all accounts had become a fractured playing squad, the Scot admitted he has had no direct communication with Keane.
