Bhoys accept city curfew

CELTIC striker Scott McDonald insists the Hoops’ squad has no problems with the weekend city-centre curfew imposed on them by manager Gordon Strachan.

Bhoys accept city curfew

After a series of incidents involving his players in Glasgow this season, the Parkhead boss has banned his squad from drinking alcohol at all during the week and from socialising in the city centre at weekends.

The Parkhead players will be subject to a club fine if found to have broken the new rules, which were also backed by chief executive Peter Lawwell.

McDonald accepts the spirit in which Strachan acted.

“There is no problem,” the former Motherwell player said. “Incidents have happened and there have been concerns, and rightly so I think. There is no reason why we shouldn’t go out every now and again and enjoy ourselves, as everyone likes to do.

“We are going to have to find other places to do that but that suits me fine because at the end of the day, we want to go somewhere where you are not going to be noticed and you just fit in.

“Everyone is accepting it and will get on with it.”
