Candystripes reject Celtic’s trial bid for McGinn

DERRYCITY have rejected Celtic’s request to take highly-rated midfielder Niall McGinn on a week’s trial at Parkhead.

The 21-year-old is being chased by several clubs, including Swansea City, who had him and his agent, Gerry Carlile, as guests at their game against Cardiff at the weekend.

McGinn was recently named young player of the year by the Professional Footballers’ Association of Ireland, days before he made his debut for Northern Ireland.
