THE Republic of Ireland women’s senior squad begins their historic bid to qualify for the finals of the European Championship for the first time when they take on Iceland at Richmond Park on Sunday (3pm) in the first leg of their playoff.

The game represents the biggest occasion for women’s football in the association’s history.

King has no injury worries ahead of the game after four members of the 22-player Irish squad recently returned from France having helped Arsenal reach the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup. The four are Yvonne Treacy, Niamh Fahey, Emma Byrne and captain Ciara Grant.
