Liverpool target Barry staying at Aston Villa

ASTON VILLA skipper Gareth Barry – a target for Liverpool throughout the summer – is to remain with the midlands club.

The England midfielder had set his heart on making the move to Anfield and linking up with Steven Gerrard in the centre of the park.

Reports yesterday suggested Liverpool were involved in new talks with Villa in a bid to bring the long-running saga to an end.
