Cork unveil new CEO

CORK CITY have appointed businessman Patrick Kenny as their new Chief Executive Officer.

Kenny has previously worked as an executive with Fitzwilliam Land Securities and in various management roles with Calor Gas. He also holds a degree in Business and Strategic Management and a Diploma in Personnel Management.

Dubliner Kenny had already attended a number of games at Turner’s Cross before officially taking up his new job this week. The club yesterday said that Kenny, described as a passionate football fan, would combine his love of the game with his business experience in his new role.

Said the new CEO: “This is a very exciting time to be joining Cork City Football Club and I am looking forward to this new challenge. I am extremely confident about our future and I look forward to working with the existing management at the club and the players to ensure success for us all, most especially our loyal fans.”

Kenny’s appointment fills the top position at the club which had been vacant since Aidan Tynan stepped down from the post of General Manager back in April.
