No immediate return to Republic squad for Finnan

STEVE FINNAN won’t be rejoining the Irish squad for the training squad in Portugal or the friendly games against Serbia and Colombia.

But Kevin Moran, the player’s agent, was reported over the weekend as saying that the Liverpool full back hasn’t ruled out returning before the World Cup campaign.

Doubts also persist over whether Andy O’Brien and Stephen Ireland will return for the end of season games, despite manager Giovanni Trapattoni having had what he described as positive meetings with the players last week.
