McCombe rescues point for Robins

JAMIE MCCOMBE continued his remarkable goalscoring run for Bristol City to help his side extend their lead at the top of the Coca-Cola Championship after a 1-1 draw at Charlton last night.

Gary Johnson’s side fell behind to a goal from Darren Ambrose in the eighth minute at The Valley, where he coolly slotted the ball past Adriano Basso from 12 yards.

But centre-half McCombe made it three goals in four games, rising unmarked to nod Lee Johnson’s corner past goalkeeper Nicky Weaver in the 62nd minute.
