IF SELECTED to play in next Sunday’s FAI Cup Final, Sean Kelly will be hoping for better luck than he had in the last game of the league campaign, when his spectacular own goal handed Bohemians victory at Turner’s Cross.

“I saw it on tv — it was a great goal, wasn’t it!” laughs the 20-year-old, who joined Cork after two years at Arsenal. “This is my first year at the club and, if I play, it will be my first cup final.”

He will go into that final with a new two-year contract which he signed yesterday however he is honest about a season that lacked consistency and leaked goals.
