Bruce: Wigan season entering ‘vital phase’

STEVE BRUCE believes Wigan are entering a crucial phase of the season in their bid to remain in the top flight.

The former Birmingham manager will take charge of the Latics for the first time on Saturday when they face Manchester City at the JJB Stadium.

Bruce’s first job is to arrest the slide which has seen Wigan lose their last eight league matches.
