FAI stand firm in final money row

THE FAI have reiterated their stance on Cup Final royalties after the footballing body met in Dublin yesterday with representatives of Cork City and Longford Town.

At an October meeting in Portmarnock, the FAI outlined to representatives of the four semi-finalists — Bohemians, Cork City, Longford Town and UCD — a financial package for the finalists, one which was accepted by the clubs.

However a u-turn from both Cork and Longford saw the clubs last week accuse the association of a breach of their own rules.
