McDonald salutes unsung Killen

SCOTT MCDONALD insisted Chris Killen should receive the plaudits despite firing his second consecutive home hat-trick for Celtic.

Killen, 26, has struggled to pin down a regular first-team place since signing from Hibernian in the summer, and his inclusion at the expense of McDonald for the Champions League defeat by Benfica in Lisbon on Wednesday raised some eyebrows.

McDonald returned to partner Killen against Motherwell and duly took his tally to 11 for the season.
