O’Donovan ponders what might have been

SUNDERLAND’S Roy O’Donovan could today find himself playing against the club he came within a whisker of joining.

The former Cork City striker was on the verge of signing for Fulham before being spirited away to the Stadium of Light by Roy Keane and, having made his first start for Sunderland last week against West Ham, the Dublin Hill man is hoping to get a look-in in today’s Premiership clash with Lawrie Sanchez’s visiting Londoners.

Says O’Donovan: “It was great to start the game against West Ham but obviously the Fulham game has a significance for me and I’d love to help us get a win.
