Eriksson has funds

SVEN-GORAN ERIKSSON last night revealed he will have the funds available to bolster his Manchester City squad in the January transfer window in order to minimise the possible effects of injuries on his team’s fine start to the season.

Eriksson was backed to the tune of almost €60million by owner Thaksin Shinawatra in the summer and will be looking to reinforce his squad at the turn of the year.

Eriksson said: “One thing that might be a problem is injuries. I wouldn’t say we’ve been lucky but we haven’t had a lot of injuries. I think we would struggle a little bit if we had a lot of injuries.
