A FAN whose pitch invasion marred Celtic’s Champions League victory over European champions AC Milan yesterday admitted a breach of the peace.

Robert McHendry ran on to the pitch and confronted AC goalkeeper Nelson Dida as Celtic celebrated a last-minute winning goal.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard yesterday that McHendry handed himself in to police the morning after the incident, telling officers he rushed down the stand and on to the pitch as the winning goal was scored. He claimed he had got “carried away” by the late goal.
