Spurs come unstuck as Toffees rise to summit

TOTTENHAM’S £40 million strike force could not find a way past Everton at White Hart Lane as David Moyes’ men stormed to the top of the Barclays Premier League last night.

However the result came as no surprise to Everton boss David Moyes, who said: ‘‘We did it last year and these players are more than capable of doing it. You’re always going to have to work hard against Tottenham.”

And the Toffees second win had Moyes dreaming that his side could emulate their top-four finish of 2005.
