FAI seek more info on Shels’ future plans

THE FAI will seek more information from Shelbourne FC in relation to the club’s future plans.

The cash-strapped Eircom League side, which is debt to the tune of approximately €4 million, is trying to put together a rescue package, believed to involve chairman of the Irish Sports Council Ossie Kilkenny, in order to stave off creditors. Yesterday the FAI’s First Instance Committee met to discuss the situation.

The FAI statement released last night reads: “The Football Association of Ireland’s First Instance Committee met today to consider issues relating to Shelbourne Football Club.
