Taylor plays down stunning volley

MATTHEW TAYLOR played down his stunning volley which set Portsmouth on their way to victory and enabled them to climb to third in the Barclays Premiership.

The 25-year-old struck from 45 yards before Kanu sidefooted a volley into the net to give Pompey victory.

The defender’s third strike in eight days is a contender for goal of the season and could even propel Taylor into the England squad.
