NEGOTIATIONS for a takeover at Cork City are at a “delicate stage but looking positive”, according to chairman Brian Lennox, who is confident that the club will be in a position to formally unveil the new owners within the next two weeks.

“On my own, I’ve taken it to the level I can take it,” says Lennox. “It needs to go up another step and that’s where new investment has to be put in.”

Amid speculation that Lennox may stay on with the club under the new ownership, the chairman is keen to take the positives from a season which he describes as “crazy in some respects, but one that we can learn from”.
