FAI gets grassroots boost with €3m grant

FAI chiefs have received an Irish Sports Council grant of €3 million, which is up 33% on its allocation last year.

Announced yesterday by Sports Minister John O’ Donoghue, the investment will support the Association’s Technical Development Plan, with an emphasis on soccer at underage level, women’s football and special needs sectors.

The FAI have also appointed four Development Officers dedicated to the growth and support of the women’s game.
