UEFA are set to launch an investigation into Tuesday night’s stormy encounter between Barcelona and Chelsea.

Italian referee Stefano Farina showed 10 yellow cards during the Champions League match – six to Chelsea players – and was confronted by furious Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard at the final whistle.

Chelsea can expect a fine for ‘unsporting behaviour’ – any team collecting more than five yellow cards in a match faces action – and Barcelona could find themselves in more serious trouble.
