Argentina boss Basile to rest Heinze and Crespo

ARGENTINA coach Alfio Basile has decided to rest Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze and former Inter Milan striker Hernan Crespo for next week’s friendly against Spain.

Both players picked up different injuries during their respective league games over the weekend, and Basile has decided not to risk their fitness at this early stage in the season.

Heinze is suffering from a strain to his right knee, while former Chelsea striker Crespo sustained a muscular injury to his left thigh.

Neither injury is thought to be serious, but Basile does not want to take the risk.

The news will come as a blow to the coach who is looking to make a stark improvement after his first game in charge against Brazil last month ended in a 3-0 defeat.
