Upson on the verge of Blues comeback

BIRMINGHAM centre-back Matthew Upson has been pencilled to launch his comeback in early October after a six month lay-off.

Upson has been sidelined since suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon while warming up before the Premiership derby at Aston Villa in mid-April.

The former Arsenal player is scheduled to play for the reserves against West Brom at St Andrews on October 9.
