Carver takes reins at Leeds

JOHN CARVER has been appointed caretaker-manager of Leeds following the departure of Kevin Blackwell.

Blackwell was sacked by the Elland Road board on Wednesday and his assistant Carver has been placed in charge in time for Saturday’s visit of Birmingham.

A club statement read: “Leeds United have confirmed that John Carver will take over as the club’s caretaker-manager, following the departure of Kevin Blackwell.
